Girls Camp

This last Thursday I got a call asking if I wanted to drive up with the girls on the bus to girls camp and I was so excited I said YES!!! This is Janessa's first year at camp, actually the first day was her 12th birthday! Plus, she is the only 1st year girl from our ward so I was a little nervous for her. So I was really excited to go and spend a couple of days just watching how she would do and being there for her in case she did need me. Come to find out she did just great! Our ward has such a small group of Young Women that the girls have to stick together because there really isn't anyone else to stick with :) In the two days that I spent with them, I was so impressed with all of them. They really are awesome girls!
I was so proud of both my girls they are truly amazing! It was so hard for me to leave them but I knew they would have a great time without me and they both needed me to go. I was just grateful for the short time I was able to spend with them, it was like a last minute present. While I was with Allana and Janessa at camp Brady was home with Robert and Briella. Robert had his last flag-football game and end of season party that Brady was in charge of since he is the coach. I felt bad leaving Brady with all of that but come to find out, he did just fine without me. Once I was home and everyone was done telling me all the fun things I missed while I was gone, I went up to my room to put away my things and found this on my bathroom counter:
If you can't tell, it is a HUGE chunk of hair stuck in a comb. I asked Brady what happened?!? His response was, "I left it for you so you would see how impossible it was to get out of the comb, and you would understand why I had to cut her hair" YOU CUT HER HAIR???? Briella is 3 and a half and has as much hair as an average 6 month old. I have only cut her hair once in her whole life! My next question was, "where did you cut it from?" ..."Oh, it is in the back, you can hardly notice it" Of course, I instantly check out her head. He was right, it was in the back, it was right at the crown, where no piggie tail or headband or barrette could ever hide. It looks like she has a 1 inch circle of turkey feathers about a half inch long right at the top of her head. HOW DO YOU FIX THAT???? I haven't even attempted to figure out how to cut her hair to hide it, or even make it not so noticeable. Sigh... "she is alive, she isn't hurt, my house is still here" I just have to keep repeating that over and over or I just may never leave home again!

Renee- I can't believe how grown up your girls are. They are beautiful! I am glad you had a chance to be with them and I am sorry about Briella's hair!

I laughed really hard at the hair cut. I am so sorry. I can just see any husband thinking that that was the best, and only option. Hilarious!!! Your girls are beautiful!

Your kids are so adorable. I can't believe how fast they have grown up. Where's the picture of Briella's hair. She will love it when she's a mom. We have several of those pictures. One of ours never cut her own hair, only her sister's. They can laugh about it NOW!
