New Member of the Family

I would like to introduce you to the newest member of the Skidmore Crew

ALI!
She is a 4 1/2 months old Lab/Mastiff mix.
We got her off of craigslist after checking the local shelters but not really having success. Her family had to get rid of her because the mom is military and just found out that she was scheduled for deployment and the dad didn't think he could handle their 2 & 4 year old boys AND a new puppy by himself. So instead of getting rid of one of the kids...the dog had to go.

She has a sweet disposition. She doesn't bark much, doesn't even bark at the doorbell! She loves to give great big wet kisses to everyone! She is still a puppy and still needs some training but she already knows to sit, does great on the leash, stays off the furniture, and has only has a few accidents in the house. Her only problem so far, is she loves the cat. A bit too much. Luckily, Phoebe, the cat, is very tolerant of her and knows how to tell her to chill (one or two hisses and a swipe of her paw) Hopefully, they will learn to co-habitate well soon.

It has been a few months since we have had a dog in the house and it feels good having her around. It has been fun for me to take her for her walks every morning and evening. It is also interesting to watch how she treats the kids differently. She can't wait for the girls to get home from school to get loves from them. Robert loves to get her all spazzed out running around in the backyard so of course she tends to be a bit more rough and tumble with him. But with little Briella all she does is rush by her and give her licks in the face (since they pretty much see eye to eye!).

We all love Ali! ( I just had forgotten how dirty my back door can get with a dog in the house!)
