Idaho part of our trip

After a busy week being tourist in Salt Lake City, we were ready for some good ole' country fun. My parents live right next door to the church with a baseball field and a great big open outfield. The kids thought it would be fun to play kick-ball. We all had a blast. Brady about to kick a home run while at the same time closing a real estate deal :)

Uncle Ellis decided to pull up to chat right in the middle of cutting the field. Can you believe that view is what my parents get to look at out their back windows every day.

One day we went for a hike up the canyon to the Cub river. It has a spring that comes right out of the mountain. This year they had tons of water and as you can see from Robert's face, it was a little chilly.

On the way home from the hike we stopped in this beautiful meadow and couldn't resist taking some pictures. Of course the kids loved being the models.

One thing that the kids feel is a tradition to do at Grandma's house is to dig a hole in her garden. It started one year when Robert was probably 5 or 6 and had much too much energy for one little house. So, the ever smart Grandma Zollinger sent him outside to dig a hole. 2 days later, it ended up about 4 feet deep. So every year since, they think it is their job to out-do themselves from last year.

This year because of the very wet season it was a bit muddy but that didn't deter their enthusiasm. They felt like just a hole wasn't good enough so they went for the trench. Here Robert is showing his muddy self.

Another tradition when visiting is to ride Uncle Ellis's Gator in the softball field. Each kid gets a turn and mom sits on the side holding her breath! This year we kept Uncle Ellis busy while he also showed the kids around.

It was such a great visit and so nice to just relax and be away from the hustle of everyday life. Plus being in 70's instead of the 110 degrees that summer gives us at home :) We can't wait until our next visit!
