Wednesday Morning Feb. 25th we got a phone call that Brady's Grandpa had passed away and the funeral was in Logan, UT on Friday morning. So we spent the day running around like mad, packing and preparing for us to be gone for a few days. The temperature change was pretty crazy. We went from 85 degree afternoons like this...
to a high of 33 degrees like this...
We decided to travel with Sherena, Brady's sister, and her 5 kids. So 2 mini vans, 3 adults and 9 kids! It was a little crazy with so many kids but it was nice to switch them up at each stop. Here we are stopped at Glen Canyon Dam for lunch.
Running was mandatory at every stop :) And there were LOTS of stops!
Here we are at a playground in Panguitch, UT. We thought it was cold (45 degrees)but the locals said it was a warm snap and were taking the opportunity to play at the park during their early spring!

Brady with ALL the kids! What a crew!!!

We made it to Logan in only 16 hours! OK, I'm being sarcastic, it usually takes only about 12 maybe 13 hours but because of so many people we had extra stops and our stops were longer than usual. As you can imagine, potty breaks with only 4 kids compared to 9 tends to take longer. But we did finally make it by 10:00 PM. We won't even mention the killer migraine I had for the last 6 - 8 hours of the trip. Let's just say I was very happy to see the hotel sign.

This is all of Brady's immediate family that were able to make it to the funeral and Grandma Ruth. After I saw the picture, I thought, what a nice picture of everyone until my eye moved to the left and noticed Robert. Yep, that is Brady's son! Sometimes I wonder what is going on in his head!!!
We came back home in two days instead of one, which made all the difference. We added another kid too. Kylee came back with us to spend a few days with us and her Dad in Phoenix before he took her home to Albuquerque. Even with 10 kids the trip wasn't too bad. We stayed at a hotel with a pool to help get some of the energy out and I didn't have a migraine so overall, the trip home was almost nice. Yet, 32 hours of driving in 4 days isn't something I would want to do every week! I'm just glad I get to come back to 85 degree weather instead of the 30's!!!

Sherena and her family were planning on staying with friends but that didn't work out so they ended up staying the first night at a hotel with us. We were able to get a third room for free because of a mistake on the hotels part. That was nice after a LONG day traveling.
We were all up and ready and to the viewing EARLY if you can imagine. The funeral was nice, with lots of family from all over the USA. They had each of his kids talk, it was fun to hear all about his life from their different perspectives. Brady and I decided that his weird sense of humor comes from his Grandpa Willie, since they told lots of stories that I could see Brady doing.
After the viewing, funeral, graveside service and luncheon the kids were very stir crazy (or maybe just crazy) so we went to find a park to get all the extra energy out. It was very cold and there was lots of snow for a mini snow fight. The kids weren't used to the cold or the snow so that didn't last too long. Gradually one after another climbed into the vans complaining about the cold. Wimpy Arizona kids!
Here we are at the park in the cold and snow
